Credentials
- App Client ID — From your Reddit app (preferences, apps, create app, type: script).
- App Secret — The secret key for your Reddit app.
- Reddit Username — The account that will submit posts.
- Account Password — Required for script-type OAuth token exchange.
- Subreddit — The subreddit to post to (without r/ prefix).
Setup Steps
- Go to reddit.com/prefs/apps and create a new app.
- Select script as the app type.
- Note the Client ID (under the app name) and Secret.
- Enter all credentials in MokonyxSocial.
Notes
Articles are submitted as link posts to the specified subreddit. Be mindful of subreddit rules about self-promotion and posting frequency.
Staying Within Community Rules
Reddit communities take self-promotion seriously. Before automating posts:
- Read the subreddit rules and confirm link posts and self-promotion are allowed.
- Prefer a subreddit you own or moderate, or one that explicitly welcomes your content.
- Pace your posts so automated submissions do not look like spam.
Verifying It Works
Publish a test article and confirm the link post appears in the target subreddit, then check the MokonyxSocial Activity Logs for the result.
