Credentials
- Instance URL — The Fediverse instance URL (e.g., https://pleroma.example.com).
- Access Token — API access token from the instance's developer settings.
How It Differs from Mastodon
Use the dedicated Mastodon service for mastodon.social and standard Mastodon instances. Use this ActivityPub service for other Fediverse platforms that implement the Mastodon-compatible API (Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey, Pixelfed, etc.).
Limits
500 characters (varies by instance). Media attachments are supported.
Which Service Should I Use?
- Standard Mastodon instance? Use the dedicated Mastodon service.
- Pleroma, Akkoma, Misskey, Pixelfed, or similar? Use this ActivityPub service.
Both rely on the Mastodon-compatible API, so setup is similar — the difference is which platform you are targeting.
Setup Tips
- Match the token to the instance. Generate the access token on the same instance you enter as the Instance URL.
- Check the instance's character limit, since it can differ from the 500-character default.
