About Nostr

Nostr ("Notes and Other Stuff Transmitted by Relays") is an open, decentralized protocol for publishing short messages. Instead of a single central server, content is signed by your key and broadcast to a set of relays that any client can read from. Because there is no central account, your identity lives entirely in your keypair — which is why key handling matters.

Credentials

  • Private Key — Your Nostr private key in hex or nsec format. Used to sign events.
  • Relay URLs — Comma-separated list of relay WebSocket URLs (e.g., wss://relay.damus.io, wss://nos.lol).

How It Fits Into MokonyxSocial

The Nostr service is one of several destinations MokonyxSocial can publish to. Once configured, published articles can be broadcast alongside your other connected platforms, and each attempt is recorded in the Post Queue so you can confirm delivery and review any errors.

Status

Nostr support is currently a stub — full WebSocket relay publishing will be available in a future release. Credential validation works, but publishing is not yet functional.

Security

Your private key is stored encrypted in the Joomla database. Never share your private key — it controls your entire Nostr identity. If you believe a key has been exposed, rotate to a new keypair and update the service credentials.
