Why Cross-Post to Bluesky
Bluesky is a fast-growing, open social network. Automatically sharing new content there helps you build an audience on the platform and reach followers who may not see your posts elsewhere, all while keeping your posting workflow in one place.
Credentials
- Handle — Your Bluesky handle (e.g., user.bsky.social).
- App Password — A dedicated password for API access (not your main password).
- PDS URL (optional) — Personal Data Server URL. Default: https://bsky.social. Only change for self-hosted PDS instances.
Setup Steps
- Log into Bluesky.
- Go to Settings, Advanced, App Passwords.
- Create a new app password and copy it.
- Enter your handle and app password in MokonyxSocial.
Limits
300 characters per post. Bluesky supports link cards with preview images.
Tips for Best Results
- Use an app password — Always create a dedicated app password rather than using your main account password; you can revoke it any time without changing your login.
- Mind the character limit — With only 300 characters per post, keep your lead concise and let the link card carry the preview.
- Self-hosted PDS — Leave the PDS URL at the default unless you run your own Personal Data Server.
Troubleshooting
If posts fail to publish, first confirm your handle is entered correctly and that the app password is still valid — revoked or regenerated app passwords must be re-entered in MokonyxSocial. For self-hosted setups, double-check the PDS URL.
