What is a workspace?

A workspace is simply a named group of services. When you activate a workspace, MokoHub shows only the services in that group and hides the rest. Nothing is deleted or signed out; the other services are just tucked away until you need them again.

MokoHub always includes a built-in All services workspace that shows everything. Think of it as your "home base." Any workspaces you create sit alongside it, and you can jump back to All services whenever you want the full list.

A service can belong to more than one workspace. For example, your email can appear in both a "Morning" workspace and a "Focus" workspace at the same time.

Opening the workspace drawer

Workspaces live in the workspace drawer, a panel that slides out from the side of the window.

  1. Look for the workspace drawer button near the top of the sidebar.
  2. Click it to open the drawer. You will see All services at the top, followed by any workspaces you have created.
  3. Click the same button again to close the drawer.

Each workspace in the drawer shows its name and how many services it contains, so you can tell them apart at a glance.

Switching between workspaces

  1. Open the workspace drawer.
  2. Click the workspace you want to use.
  3. The drawer closes and the sidebar updates to show only that workspace's services.

To go back to seeing everything, open the drawer again and click All services.

MokoHub remembers the last workspace you used and reopens it the next time you start the app, so you can pick up right where you left off.

Creating a workspace

  1. Open the workspace drawer and click Add new workspace. (You can also open Settings and go to the Workspaces section.)
  2. Type a name that describes the group, such as "Focus," "Advertising," or "End of day."
  3. Click Create workspace.
  4. On the next screen, add the services you want by selecting them under Services in this Workspace.
  5. Click Save workspace.

Your new workspace now appears in the drawer, ready to use.

Editing or deleting a workspace

  1. Open the workspace drawer.
  2. Right-click a workspace (or use the Edit option on it) to open its settings.
  3. Rename it, add or remove services, then click Save workspace.
  4. To remove the workspace entirely, click Delete workspace.

Deleting a workspace only removes the group. The services inside it stay in MokoHub and remain available under All services and any other workspaces they belong to.

Reordering services in a workspace

While a workspace is active, you can drag its service tiles up or down in the sidebar to change the order. The new order is saved automatically and applies whenever that workspace is active.

A single sign-in across a group

Some workspaces are set up to share one sign-in session across all their services. This is how the built-in Google Workspace group works: signing in to one Google service (like Gmail) signs you in to the rest of the group automatically, so you don't have to log in service by service.

This shared sign-in is configured for you. If you use the standard Moko setup, the Google services are already grouped this way and ready to go after your first login.

Keeping workspaces loaded

By default, MokoHub can put inactive services to sleep to save memory and battery. If you would rather have a workspace stay ready in the background so it loads instantly when you switch to it, you have two options:

  • Open a workspace's settings and turn on Keep this workspace loaded to keep just that group ready.
  • Or open Settings and turn on Keep all workspaces loaded to keep every workspace ready. Note that this global setting overrides the per-workspace option.

Keeping more services loaded uses more memory, so turn these on only for the workspaces you switch to most often.

Tidying up the drawer

A few settings let you tailor how the workspace drawer looks and behaves. In Settings you can:

  • Always show workspace drawer to keep the panel open instead of sliding it out each time.
  • Use compact workspace drawer for a slimmer panel.
  • Hide "All services" workspace if you only ever work inside your own groups.
  • Hide Workspace Drawer button to remove the button from the sidebar.

Tips for getting the most out of workspaces

  • Group by task, not by tool. A "Client outreach" workspace with email, chat, and your ad dashboards is more useful than one workspace per app.
  • Create an "End of day" workspace with only the essentials so you can wind down without every notification competing for attention.
  • Put the services you check constantly in a small, always-loaded workspace so they open instantly.
  • Use All services when you need to find something that isn't in your current group.
