Why Cross-Post to Blogger
Blogger is a long-running, free Google blogging platform with a built-in audience and solid search visibility. Automatically mirroring new articles there keeps that blog active and extends the reach of your content — without the manual copy-and-paste of every post.
How It Works
When an article is published on your Mokonyx site, MokonyxSocial sends the content to your Blogger blog as a new post through the Blogger API. Full HTML content is supported, so formatting and structure carry over, and your Joomla categories can become Blogger labels for consistent tagging.
Credentials
- Access Token — Issued during OAuth authorization with your Google account.
- Refresh Token — Used for automatic token renewal so the connection stays active without re-authorizing.
- Blog ID — The numeric Blog ID found in your Blogger settings or via the Blogger API.
Authorization
- In Joomla, go to Components, Mokonyx Social, and add a Google Blogger service.
- Enter your Blog ID and save the service.
- Click Connect to Blogger to authorize access through your Google account.
- Your access and refresh tokens are stored automatically once you approve access.
Notes
- Full HTML content is supported.
- Joomla categories can be mapped to Blogger labels for consistent tagging.
- MokonyxSocial uses the refresh token to renew access over time, so the connection keeps working without manual intervention.
Tips for Best Results
- Find the right Blog ID — Use the numeric Blog ID from your Blogger settings, not the blog's display name or URL slug.
- Authorize with the owning account — Complete OAuth with the Google account that actually owns or administers the target blog.
- Keep the connection healthy — The refresh token lets MokonyxSocial renew access automatically; if posts stop publishing, re-run the authorization step to refresh your tokens.
Troubleshooting
If posts don't appear, verify the Blog ID is the numeric value for the correct blog and that the Google account you authorized has permission to post to it. If publishing stops after working for a while, the authorization has usually expired or been revoked — reconnect the service to refresh the OAuth tokens.
