MokonyxInsight installs like any Joomla package — but it ships several plugins, and its engine must be enabled for anything to work.

Install the package

  1. In Joomla admin, go to System → Install → Extensions.
  2. Upload the pkg_mokonyxinsight package (or install from the update server URL).
  3. Wait for the "Installation successful" message. The component, modules and plugins install together.

Enable the engine (required)

Insight's metrics, data sources, dashboards and REST API are powered by the System - MokonyxInsight plugin. Enable it, or the console will show an "engine is turned off" notice and no data will load:

  1. Go to System → Manage → Plugins and search MokonyxInsight.
  2. Enable System - MokonyxInsight (the engine), and also Task - MokonyxInsight (scheduler) and Web Services - MokonyxInsight (REST API).

Once MokonyxInsight is installed and its engine plugin is enabled, this is the quickest path to a working dashboard.

1. Run the setup wizard

Open Components → MokonyxInsight. On first run you're guided through a short setup wizard; you can re-run it any time from the component.

2. Connect a data source

Go to Insight → Data Sources → New, choose a provider type (e.g. Google Analytics 4, Matomo, SQL), fill in its settings, paste any API key into the secret field, and click Test. A green result means its metrics are now in the catalog.

3. Build a dashboard

Go to Insight → Dashboards → New, add widgets, and pick a metric for each from the live catalog. Choose a visualization (counter, line, bar, pie, gauge, table) and save. Use the time-range picker and auto-refresh to keep it live.

Getting Started with the Prometheus Data Source

The Prometheus data source lets Mokonyx Insight read live infrastructure metrics from a Prometheus endpoint and chart them on your dashboards alongside your business KPIs. It is read-only — the plugin only issues Prometheus query requests and never writes.
