What the heartbeat does
- Registers the site and reports version, health, and backup status.
- Is RSA-signed so HQ can trust it came from your site.
- Rotates a daily support PIN used to verify support requests.
The interval is configurable in the System – MokonyxPlatform plugin (default every 6 hours). HQ uses the heartbeat channel for read-only status and, where authorized, remote management.
Why the heartbeat matters
The heartbeat is what lets Moko Consulting keep an eye on your site without needing to log in or ask you for credentials. Because each report is signed by your site and carries current health and backup information, our team can spot problems — such as a missed backup, an out-of-date extension, or a site that has stopped reporting — before they turn into an outage. This proactive visibility is a core part of the managed care we provide.
Security and trust
Every heartbeat is RSA-signed, meaning MokonyxHQ can cryptographically confirm that the message genuinely came from your site and was not tampered with in transit. The rotating daily support PIN adds a second layer of protection: when you contact support, the PIN confirms that a request is authorized before any privileged action is taken on your behalf.
What is shared and what is not
By default the heartbeat channel is used for read-only status information — version numbers, health indicators, and backup status. Remote management actions are only performed where you have authorized them. The heartbeat is designed to give us the operational insight we need to support you while keeping you in control of what happens to your site.
Adjusting the interval
The reporting interval can be changed in the System – MokonyxPlatform plugin. The default six-hour cadence balances timely monitoring against server load and is suitable for most sites. If you have a specific compliance or performance reason to change it, our team can help you choose an appropriate value.
