Overview
MokoOnyx can display social media icon links in three places — the topbar, the footer, and a fixed floating sidebar — each enabled independently. Configure everything under System > Site Templates > MokoOnyx > Social Icons.
Choosing where icons appear
- Topbar — icons in the top bar.
- Footer — icons in the footer.
- Floating sidebar — a fixed bar pinned to the left or right edge of the screen. It is hidden on mobile and includes a collapsible chevron; the collapsed state is remembered for each visitor.
Styling the icons
Once at least one position is enabled, style options appear:
- Shape — Plain, Square, Circle, or Rounded.
- Size — Small, Medium, or Large.
- Colour — Theme (matches your palette), Brand (each platform’s own colour), Black, or White.
Adding your links
Enter the full URL for each platform you use and leave the rest blank. Supported platforms include Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, GitHub, Bluesky, Threads, Discord, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, Telegram, WhatsApp, Tumblr, Twitch, Spotify, SoundCloud, Flickr, Vimeo, Linktree, and Email (a mailto: address or a contact-page link).
Each URL is validated when you save. An invalid or empty URL is simply skipped at render time, so a typo can never break the page.
Tooltips
Every icon shows a hover tooltip with the platform name (for example “Follow us on GitHub”). Tooltip placement adapts automatically to where the icons sit — a floating-left bar shows tooltips on the right, a floating-right bar on the left, and topbar/footer icons above.
