Your CRM begins with your relationships โ and Dolibarr makes it easy to manage clients, vendors, and leads all in one place. Here's how to get started.
๐ท๏ธ Third Parties Overview
In Dolibarr, the "Third Parties" module is where you create records for:
- ๐ง Clients and Customers
- ๐ข Vendors and Suppliers
- ๐ Prospects and Leads
Each record can contain full company details, associated contacts, payment terms, tax settings, and categories.
โ Adding a New Third Party
- Go to Third Parties > New Third Party
- Choose the type (Customer, Supplier, or Prospect)
- Enter:
- Company or individual name
- Address and contact info
- Status and category (optional but recommended)
- Save the record to access more tabs (contacts, bank info, pricing, etc.)
๐ก Pro Tip: Use categories to segment clients by region, service type, or industry.
๐ค Adding Contacts to a Client
Once a third party is created, you can associate one or more contacts:
- Go to the third party profile
- Click the Contacts/Addresses tab
- Click Add Contact/Address
- Fill in the name, role (e.g., manager, billing, support), and email/phone
This keeps communication and roles clear across your CRM.
๐ Converting Prospects to Clients
As your leads grow, convert them without duplicating data:
- Open a Prospect record
- Change their status to "Customer"
- Save changes to automatically reclassify the third party in all modules
๐ Access and Permissions
Only users with access to the Third Parties module can:
- View or edit client records
- Add or remove contacts
- Assign sales reps
Ask your administrator to adjust access as needed from the ๐ Client Portal or the Dolibarr admin interface.
