What is Mokonyx Licensing
Mokonyx Licensing is the authority that issues and validates the licenses used by Mokonyx products and delivers gated software updates. It works alongside MokonyxCRM (which holds your subscription/contract) and the software forge (which stores release files).
What it does for you
- Confirms your license is valid when a product checks in.
- Restricts a license to the sites/domains you are entitled to.
- Delivers version updates only to licensed installations.
- Lets companies self-provision users from a purchased pool of seats.
You normally interact with it indirectly — your installed product validates in the background. Administrators and resellers use the admin tools and API described here.
Glossary
- License key — the secret string that identifies your entitlement. Shown once at
creation; store it safely (only a hashed form is kept on the server).
- DLID — a non-secret download identifier tied to a license, used in update URLs.
- Seat / site — one activated installation (domain). Licenses have a seat limit.
- Allotment — a pool of seats a company buys and hands out to its own users.
- Child key — a license drawn from an allotment; consumes one seat.
- Domain allowlist — an optional list restricting which domains a key may run on.
