Enabling the site PWA
- Go to System > Site Templates > Mokonyx > PWA.
- Turn on Enable PWA. Mokonyx emits the web app manifest and
theme-colorand registers the service worker for the front end.
The front-end service worker ships a branded offline shell: static assets are served cache-first, page navigations are network-first, and if a visitor is offline they see a branded fallback page instead of the browser’s error screen.
The administrator PWA
The companion Admin Extender plugin (System - Mokonyx Admin) has its own Enable Admin PWA toggle. The administrator shell is network-only - it is installable but never caches administrator, session, or authenticated content; its only job is installability.
The app icon
The PWA icon is generated from your brand icon (see the template’s Favicon settings). Provide a square brand icon for the best result on home screens and app launchers.
For developers: extending the PWA
Product extensions can add app shortcuts, share targets, offline routes, and push notifications by shipping a declarative media/<element>/pwa.json. Mokonyx owns a single service worker and manifest per scope and compiles every contribution into it. See the PWA Extension Standard in the Mokonyx developer wiki.
