Site Transfer & Migration wizard
Restore a backup to a different host, domain, or database. Pick a completed backup, enter the target site URL and database details, then preview the changes as a dry run, build a ready-to-ship migration package (the archive plus a generated kickstart restore.php and a prefilled migration.json), or push it straight to a remote SFTP/FTP destination. The site-URL and database rewrite runs safely on the target, correctly handling serialized data instead of blindly patching it.
Bare-metal / kickstart restore
Rebuild a site on a completely empty server - no working Joomla required. The standalone restore.php extracts the files, imports the database, and writes configuration.php, and now also rewrites the site URL across the database when you restore to a new domain and verifies the restored site can boot (database reachable, core tables present) before handing off.
Split archives for large sites
Backups larger than a size cap you choose are automatically sliced into sequentially-numbered parts with a checksum manifest, so large sites back up and restore cleanly on hosts with upload or size limits. Every restore path - including the standalone script - reassembles and checksum-verifies each part, and retention prunes all parts together. Set the cap per profile or site-wide; 0 keeps a single archive.
Automated backup verification
Prove a backup is restorable without touching your live site. A one-click Verify action and a Last Good Restore dashboard card extract the archive and import the database into a throwaway scratch area, run health checks, record a verified / failed / inconclusive verdict, then clean up - and notify you by email or ntfy when a verification fails.
